Birthday T-shirt design for my sister, Hong. The coffee logo is an illo of her stuffed turtle, Bert. Thaz why it sez “Starberts Coffee”.

Been a long time since I colored anything. I managed to fine my old signature PSD file on a jump drive back-up. Sweet! Back in business (at least with the signature).
Birthday bird for my little buddy, Bird.
Hellboy Doll. This was a minor accent image from a DG & SG Christmas card. I’m thinking of making an iron-on t-shirt for my nephews with a colored version.
Tightened final pencils.
Old SD Black Bolt, Medusa, and Lockjaw prelim.
Not actually the original final version, but the re-do of the final. The final Christmas card was zip-a-toned like a mug by my girlfriend and doesn’t really scan well. This version has been de-Christmas and de-zip-a-toned for public consumption.
You ever look back at old drawings and wonder why you forgot something or changed something from the initial design? I really dig the pentagram Chucks and the exhaust flame from this version much more than the final.
A glimpse into how retarded I used to do things. Post-it notes for god’s sake.
Partae like it’s 1999. Preliminary doodle sitting around at work one day. I used to do devilgirl / spacegirl Christmas cards for friends every year. This was the genesis of the first one. Awesome huh?
I forgot how arduous inking can be. I’m pretty fried from the entire process. Old-ass sakura .005 and brush pens don’t help either. I’m honestly not so satisfied with how this came out. It is probably unnoticeable in this 72 dpi version, but there was some wavey-graviness to the inks in the early stages and I got better and smoother as I progressed to completion. I can see why Adam Warren bounced on the whole inking thing. Needless to say Adam’s inks crushes my whackness a million times over. Liz’s hair was a complete kick to the nuts. I’m considering re-inking another one just for the sake of practice. Might need to invest in some new pens before then. Had to do a cut and paste of the signature from an old piece. I can’t remember the font I originally used for the life of me and the original PSD files that I had died with an old hard drive a loooong time ago. Next up…colors in Photoshop.
Added Liz and changed a couple things.
Blue-lined in Photoshop. Tightened up pencils on Blue-line print-out from my Epson. Better, but needs more work.
First one for 2011. Thanks to Rev. Dave Johnson for inspiration. I gots what my boy Rico calls “the burn” to draw. More of a warm-up than anything else. No references. 90 minutes last night plus some tweeking while eating dinner and listening to Jeopardy. Pork Chops!
